a lesson in english Me n my frens were having dinner at NYDC. Then I was telling them i wanna have BAK-ED rice. They shot back "It's baked not bak-ed". Obviously I know its baked n not bak-ed but the latter sounds nicer n more kiam pa. me: u pronounce "naked" as nake or nak-ed?? him: nak-ed la… u cannot compare English like tat... pronounce C-H-A-O me: ‘chao’ lor him: pronounce C-H-A-O-S me: ‘charles’ him: hahaha… stupid. it’s ‘kay-os’ him: pronounce ‘pi’ me: ‘pee’ him: pronounce ‘pe’ me: ‘per’ him: ‘pi’ + ‘pe’ is? me: ‘people’ him: wahahahaa… it’s pipe! for once, I’m speechless.
